Thomas joined AFLT in August 2023, bringing extensive expertise in forestry and land conservation. He started his career in Alabama forestry at Cooper Timberlands in Mobile. He later became the Director of Forest Management at the Nature Conservancy of Alabama. Thomas is a registered Alabama forester and has a master's degree from The University of Georgia's Langdale Center for Forest Business. He also holds an undergraduate degree in Forestry from Auburn University's College of Forestry, Wildlife, and Environment.
